Dear colleagues,

In accordance with Article X, section 3 of the Bylaws
<https://www.arlisna.org/organization/organization/30-administrative-documents/176-bylaws>
of the Art Libraries Society of North America, the 2018 Nominating
Committee invites members of the Society to submit names for consideration
for the following positions on the Executive Board:

*Vice President/President-Elect*: Responsible for such matters as are
delegated by the President and, in the event of the inability of the
President to serve, shall act as chief executive officer. This position is
a three year term: the President-Elect shall serve the first year after
election as Vice President, the second year as President, and the third
year as Past President.

*Secretary*: Responsible for keeping the official minute book and Policy
Manual of the Society and for distributing the minutes of the Executive
Board meetings in a timely manner. The Secretary shall act as the teller
for balloting for amendments to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.
The Secretary shall serve two years. The ARLIS/NA past-Secretary serves as
Documentation Committee Chair for two years following their term on the
Executive Board.

*Advancement Liaison*: Works with the Membership, Development, and
Diversity committees, reporting on their activities to the Board and
reporting on Board decisions to the committee. The Advancement Liaison
shall serve two years.

*Chapters Liaison*: Report the decisions and deliberations of the Executive
Board to the chapters after Board meetings, and at other times as
necessary. Advocate for chapters' concerns before the Board. The Chapters
Liaison shall serve two years.

The terms of office will begin at the 2019 ARLIS/NA membership meeting at
the 47th annual conference to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, March 26-30,
2019.

Nominations may be made by any ARLIS/NA member eligible to vote; a second
by another member eligible to vote is required. Self-nominations are
encouraged. Qualifying nominations should be filed with the Nominating
Committee no more than 60 calendar days from the date of the general
announcement (i.e., by June 1, 2018). Please consult the Policy Manual

The Nominating Committee may identify other qualified candidates for each
office to be filled. Nominations may also be brought to the attention of
any one of the committee members. The slate of candidates will be announced
in Fall 2018.
