Dear ARLIS/NA Community,

I’d like to encourage you to take time to read the 2017 Annual Report from the President on the ARLIS/NA Web Site (AWS).  In this report, goals, initiatives, and activities from the past year are highlighted.

They include:

-       the renegotiation of the new contract with Association Executives Group (AEG)

-       the funding of projects and financial guidelines for the Society

-       the 2018 Leadership Institute as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives

-       Humanities Commons

-       our efforts with International relations

-       the Museum Libraries White Paper

-       NDSR/Art, as well as SEI

-       the work of the Strategic Directions Committee and the Society’s task force groups.

I conclude the report by commenting on upcoming projects and initiatives in my role as Past-President for 2018-2019.

The 2017 Annual Reports written by the Society’s leadership are now posted.  Along with the Executive Board meeting minutes from 2017 and 2018, these documents provide you with further detail about the Society’s work this past year.   Many thanks to Mark Pompelia making these available on the AWS.

It was an honor to serve as President of ARLIS/NA.  I’d like to thank the 2017-2018 board (Stacy Brinkman, Kim Colllins, Samantha Deutch, Catherine Essinger, Jennifer Garland, Heather Gendron, Matthew Gengler, Roger Lawson, and Lauren MacDonald) for their outstanding work as well as Robert Kopchinski and all of the Society’s leadership and members.  The Society has a deep pool of talent and dedication, and I am thrilled by the collaborations and initiatives that are occurring across the Society.  I look forward to serving as Past-President under the leadership of Kim Collins.

My thanks to you all,

Eumie
