Since its founding in 1971, the Museum has played a vital role in the Bronx by helping to make art accessible to the entire community and connecting with local schools, artists, teens, and families through its robust education initiatives and public programs. Attendees will get an overview of the history and mission of the institution, a window into the day-to-day activities of the institution, and a guided tour of special exhibitions devoted to Angel Otero and Gordon Matta-Clark. Directions: Meet the tour wrangler in the assembly area in the Hilton Hotel main lobby, main entrance, at 1:15 PM to walk together to the subway. Tour participants are required to buy a loaded Metro Card in advance of the tour, so that the tour can remain on schedule. Round-trip travel will cost $5.50 cash. The subway will take an approximately 45 minutes each way.
