Dear ARLIS/NA Community, I'm pleased to inform you that ARLIS/NA HQ has worked with the conference hotel<http://www.arlisna.org/newyork2018/hotel.php> to add extra rooms at the discounted conference rate during the shoulder nights prior to and after the conference (February 24, 25). Unfortunately, the hotel is part of a large organization in which the reservation staff is not located on-site, and so, many of you may be hearing from the reservation staff that we don't have rooms available at the conference rates before, during and after the conference. This is not true - we have plenty of rooms at the discounted rate available before, during and after the conference! I know that this has been a frustrating experience for many of you. Here are some tips for you when speaking with the hotel reservations staff - you'll need to be persistent with them by either asking to speak with their manager or calling back and speaking with someone else. Our members who have been successful using this tactic. I look forward to seeing you in New York City next month.
