Amen, Peggy! Our version--is it everyone's?--shows a place to "sign in" (not nec for institutional licenses) and the post-search legend/explanation at the bottom talks about "restricted collections"? The handy Encyclopedia of Esthetics (albeit the 2nd ed) is buried in their searchable databases explanation. The canned time period limiters aren't really relevant to any subject area. A few of us are nominally on the "advisory board" of Grove art (haven't met in years) and were simply not consulted of the changes or notified of their timing. But you're right, Peggy, the timing of this rollout was really poor.
