I hadn’t realized these changes were coming through, so thanks for starting the conversation!
Like Lee pointed out, I wonder if there’s a reason that the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, the Dictionary of Art Terms, and the Companion to Western Art are listed as separate resources buried in an “About” page, and are no longer included in the Oxford Art search. There’s no “Advanced Search” option either, so you can only adjust your search after the fact.
Looking it over, it almost seems to have been revamped for non-specialist users who are more likely to browse rather than use a specific tool or collection. Is this possibly a reflection of changes in Oxford Art’s user base (more undergrads/4 year institutions than MA/PhD programs?)

The handy Encyclopedia of Esthetics (albeit the 2nd ed) is buried in their searchable databases explanation. The canned time period limiters aren't really relevant to any subject area.
A few of us are nominally on the "advisory board" of Grove art (haven't met in years) and were simply not consulted of the changes or notified of their timing.
But you're right, Peggy, the timing of this rollout was really poor.

Does anyone have an opinion about the new Oxford Art Online interface? I understand the music librarians are very unhappy about Oxford UP did to the Oxford Music Online interface, especially right at the end of the semester. I actually dislike whatever OUP does in terms of interfaces - don't even get me started on the horror that is Oxford Scholarly Editions Online. I don't think the new interface is either better or worse than before. Any thoughts?
