Hello Andi,

To add to your information base:

Here at Clemson, once back issues are bound--and that schedule varies according to the frequency of the journal--the loan period is the same as for any monograph: 6 weeks for undergrads, 12 weeks for grads, 16 weeks for faculty & staff.

All incoming issues are barcoded when received, but in our branch they also get RFID chips--we're the only collection at Clemson using RFID. The individual chips are invalidated before issues go to the bindery.

For current issues, we again have different loan periods per the borrower's standing: undergraduates, up to 3 for 3 days; graduates and faculty, up to 3 for 7 days.

Art and architecture journals are treated no differently from those in other subject areas.

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Journal Circulation Policies

Hello,

I am curious how many academic libraries allow their art and architecture journals to circulate.

If you work for an academic library can you quickly reply and let me know if your journals circulate or not.  I am only concerned about art and architecture journal publications.

If your journals do happen to circulate can you please let me know the current loan period.

Thank you,
