The application deadline for the ARLIS/NA IT Architect is extended to October 31, 2017.

The IT architect is responsible for implementing structural and design improvements to the ARLIS/NA website (AWS). Society members with experience in website design and content management systems (such as Joomla) are particularly encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute creatively to ARLIS/NA’s principal web identity and to collaborate with peers who are committed to advancing the society’s mission by means of clear and dynamic communication with the art information community.

The IT architect is appointed by the vice president/president-elect in consultation with the editorial director, and reports to the editorial director. The term of appointment is one year, is renewable, and receives an honorarium.

Information Architect

 Major Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess site usability and evaluate analytics
• Make recommendations for development of site functionality
• Communicate regularly with the editorial director about proposals and overall structure of the AWS, including future development
• Work with editorial director and AWS content editor to develop and refine the website style guide
• Work closely with AWS content and media editors
• Serve as backup content editor as necessary
