If you are interested in being an ARLIS/NA committee member, committee chair, or an affiliated organization liaison, please complete this volunteer request form survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YH3X5KM) by Wed., October 4th ***************** Dear ARLIS/NA, As the ARLIS/NA Vice-President/President Elect, it is my duty to appoint committee chairs and affiliate liaisons, as well as help committee chairs make final committee membership appointments on behalf of the ARLIS/NA Executive Board. We have received feedback that this process could be more transparent, so we are collecting interest via this volunteer request form survey<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YH3X5KM> for 2018/19 open positions that will begin after the New York annual conference. Please keep in mind that our policy manual states that committee “members serve one year; renewable two times for a maximum of three years of consecutive service and committee members must be official (dues- paying) members of ARLIS/NA.” While membership is not required when expressing interest, membership will be required to serve on the committee or as an affiliate. Also, committee “chairs shall serve one term; renewable one time for a maximum of two years of consecutive service, not including any years served as a member, “with the total maximum number of consecutive years served as member and chair being five.” This volunteer request form also surveys interest in serving as a liaison to an ARLIS/NA affiliated organizations. These positions require involvement with the affiliated organization and often attendance at affiliated organization’s conferences. Committee chair candidates may also be asked to supply a CV. Members of the ARLIS/NA Executive Board may not serve as chairs, moderators, and/or coordinators of ARLIS/NA committees, divisions, sections, and/or special interest groups or as officers of local chapters except for Board subcommittees such as CPAC.
