New blog on the ARLIS/NA Decorative Arts website:“Documenting the White House Library Tiles: an interview with Sally SimsStokes.”

We caught up with Prominent art librarian andscholar Sally Sims Stokes to ask her a few questions about thediscoveries made and lessons learned as she traced the mystery behind the WhiteHouse fireplace tiles and their importance to presidential history.

Stokes recently published her research, “Documenting theHistory of the White House Library Fireplace Tiles 1944-1962″ in the Spring2017 issue of Art Documentation (vol.36, no. 1), together with color photographs and text detailing not only thetiles, but also ephemera important to the research.  Explore the storybehind the story on the DecArts blog: http://decarts.arlisna.org/
