Over the years of my involvement with the world of artists' books, I've met many librarians (and others who work in libraries) who also create book works. I'm interesting in learning more about such works and showing them to a larger audience via public exhibition. Bibliothecarii et Glutinatores (Librarians as Bookbinders), will feature book works created by librarians (actually library workers, retired librarians, those who hold MLS degrees but currently work outside the field - i.e. those who have a love of librarianship). The exhibit will be on view in the beautiful Gates Exhibition Hall at Denver Public Library's Central Branch from January - March 2018. The Gates Hall has recently hosted the national traveling exhibit of Guild of Bookworkers, the Open Set national traveling exhibit of design bindings orchestrated by the American Academy of Bookbinding and several regional book arts exhibits.
