Ah, end of year money—a wonderful thing! And like all wonderful things, it comes with extra work.

 

Here at Clemson our acquisitions committee subgroup is tasked with reviewing streaming video platforms—both paid subscription and patron-driven-acquisition varieties—ahead of making recommendations to The Powers That Be.

 

I’m finding some selection criteria docs online from academic libraries, and we have a good sense of what segments of our user base generate need or demand.

 

Still, it would be most helpful to hear from any of you who’ve undertaken this sort of review recently. If you’re willing to share information on your process and results, or even name the vendors your institution went with and why, I’d happily compile and share.

 

In the meantime, your input would help us out right now—our decision deadline is early June. Reply off-list if you prefer.
