Hello,

I am creating a syllabus for a class I will be teaching to 10-15 students from a local high school, starting in April and ending in June. The class will meet in the library for 30 minutes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. In that time, I hope to introduce them to video art. The students do not have much exposure to the arts in school. I hope to make our sessions engaging, fun and informative, while fostering a welcoming environment for teens that will assist in creating an identity as library-goers. I am hoping to gather some input from ARLIS regarding syllabus creation, reference materials, teaching, video art and advice of any kind as I venture down this new path. (I want it to be fun for the teens!) I know I will be using work by Pipilotti Rist and Allison Schulnik.

Thank you in advance for any assistance with this request.

Signed,

Elizabeth Lane
