Artist, curator and arts worker Matthew Deleget joins artist and educator Paul Sunday to discuss the new series of photographs Archive / Improv created specifically for his Photo Walls in Picture Collection exhibition series in collaboration with Arezoo Moseni. The work is considered in the context of the current moment in photography, hybrid practices and post-minimalism.

Paul Sunday is a photographer, painter, curator and educator. He discovered his love of photography while working on avant-garde theater and performance projects in New York. His earliest images were documents of performances and portraits of actors. In the 1990s, the artist created thousands of pictures for magazines and luxury brands. His portraits of artists and celebrities have been published in Paper, aRude, Interview, Soma and German Vogue among others. In 2002 he took a hiatus from commercial work, gravitating toward abstract photography and reductive painting. He was born in Missouri. He attended school in Yorktown Heights, New York and graduated from Fordham College at Lincoln Center with a B.A. in Theater Arts. He currently shares a studio in Jersey City with his wife Pamela Sunday, a sculptor.  He teaches photography at Pratt Institute and New York Film Academy.  For additional information please visit Paul Sunday's website.

Matthew Deleget is an artist, curator, and arts worker.  His work has been exhibited internationally and was included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial.  Other exhibitions have included MoMA/P.S. 1, Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bass Museum of Art and Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art. He is a member of American Abstract Artists, the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation’s Artist Advisory Committee, and the board of The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. In 2003, Matthew Deleget co-founded MINUS SPACE , a gallery based in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in contemporary reductive abstract art. Since 2006, he has organized more than 60 solo and group exhibitions. He holds an M.F.A. in Painting and an M.S. in Theory, Criticism and History of Art, Design and Architecture from Pratt Institute and a B.A. in Art and German from Wabash College. Matthew Deleget lives with his wife, artist Rossana Martinez and son Mateo in Brooklyn, NY. For additional information please visit Matthew Deleget's website.

Initiated and organized by Arezoo Moseni in 2004, Artist Dialogues Series provide an open forum for understanding and appreciation of contemporary art. Artists are paired with critics, curators, gallerists, writers or other artists to converse about art and the potential of exploring new ideas.

The event is free and advanced registration is recommended.
