Hi Alan,

Marshall Breeding's website http://librarytechnology.org/ is a great resource for this.
There's a 2016 report here: https://americanlibrariesmagazine.org/2016/05/02/library-systems-report-2016/
He also does an annual survey on user perceptions that you should check out too:

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Choosing the right ILS

Hello all,

Does anyone using OCLC WMS? We are going to acquire a ILS. After approaching a few vendors, OCLC’s WMS looks quite attractive in terms of easy cataloging, ILL module, discovery function and multi-language interface. What do you think if we use it as the first library catalogue? Apart from books and dvd, is it capable and convenient for managing other materials such as exhibition guides, leaflets, artist file, etc.? Apart from OCLC WMS, is there other recommendation of library system for a new and growing reference library?

Rob Taylor’s article provides me a great starting point. But I do not understand every single aspect; and many systems fulfil those requirements too. It is really a daunting task for me.

Thank you so much for any input and discussion!

Best regards,
