Dear colleagues,
A Rutgers library and information science student is in need of a basic taxonomy for describing art materials. She has consulted with the Getty Research Institute and, as we anticipated, was directed to the Art and Architecture Thesaurus, which, while impressive in its breadth and depth, is somewhat too complex in its format to be useful to her.
