Located in New York State's Hudson Valley--about 1.5 hours north of NYC--the Women's Studio Workshop focuses on residencies, internships, and workshops for artists at all stages of their careers. Below are some book arts-specific opportunities with upcoming deadlines this fall.


Paid Studio Internship
This six-month internship provides $300/month stipend, free on-campus housing, unlimited studio access, and the opportunity to exhibit work at the end of the term. Studio Interns work with staff and resident artists on projects that may include printmaking, papermaking, book arts, in addition to assisting with the ongoing operations of the facility. While the number of artist's book projects per year varies, studio interns always help to edition at least one project during their term.

Nonprofit Management Internship
This six-month internship provides $300/month stipend, free on-campus housing, unlimited studio access, and the opportunity to exhibit work at the end of the term. The Nonprofit Mgmt. intern is active in communications, marketing, and social media, as well as database management, processing artist residency proposals for jury review, workshop registration, event planning, and more!

Artist's Book Residency Grant
The Artist’s Book Grant is a 6-8 week residency for artists to produce a limited edition artist's book. Working intensively in our studios, artists print and bind their own books, and are encouraged to create an edition of appx. 50 books. Artists receive $350/week, up to $750 for materials, up to $250 for travel, on-campus housing, and 24/7 studio access.

Art-in-Education Artist's Book Residency Grant
The Art-in-Education Artist’s Book Grant is an 8-10 week residency for artists to produce a limited edition artist's book and teach public school students 1-2 days/week in WSW's studios. Artists can work in any discipline and must addition appx. 50 books. Artists receive $350/week, up to $750 for materials, up to $250 for travel, on-campus housing, and 24/7 studio access.
