Dear colleagues,

The Mexico City conference (October 12-15) registration is well underway and we welcome your attendance and participation!

This is a tremendous opportunity to visit outstanding Mexican libraries, meet with Mexican colleagues, and learn about their rich collections.

Here are just a few of the highlights that you can expect:

·         Session on Latin American collection building and collaboration (program proposals being accepted until September 1)

·         Biblioteca del Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL)

One of the most important libraries in Mexico with rich collections devoted to Mexican and Latin American Art. The library houses the Ricardo Perez Escamilla Collection and includes a relevant set of periodicals from 19th and 20th centuries.

·         Biblioteca Don Rogerio Casas Alatriste, Museo Franz Mayer

This library houses materials amassed by Franz Mayer, among the most important collectors of art and books in the Americas. The collection is dedicated to the decorative arts and is considered one of the most significant repositories of El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de La Mancha in the world.

·         Biblioteca Nacional de Antropología e Historia

This library specializes in materials on anthropology, archaeology, ethnology, history and sociology. It houses an impressive collection of incunabula and early modern codices.

·         Palacio de los Condes de San Mateo de Valparaíso, Banamex Colección de Arte

Acquired by the Count of San Mateo de Valparaiso in the 18th century, this grand structure is a fine example of baroque architecture. The property was then acquired by the National Bank of Mexico in the mid-19th century and today houses a rich collection of art and historical documents.

Register here by September 5 for the early bird rates and then pack your bags for Mexico City!

Our best,
