ARLIS/NA WELCOMES REDARTE/RJ AS AFFILIATE ORGANIZATION

OAK CREEK, WI (July 14, 2016)-The Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) welcomes The Art Library Network of Rio de Janeiro (REDARTE/RJ) as an official affiliate organization. A vote was put to the ARLIS/NA membership this spring and passed. REDARTE/RJ was founded in 1995 by Solange Zúñiga and Helena Ferrez of the Fundação Nacional de Arte (FUNARTE) with 11 participating library institutions in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi. The association has grown to include 34 member institutions today. The main objective of REDARTE is to expand access, for art researchers and the general public, to the significant number of specialized collections of arts information located in the region. The network also promotes professional development among its members. Learn more about REDARTE at www.redarterj.com.

The benefits of affiliation include the exchange of publications and conference information; reciprocal complimentary conference registration for the president and executive director of affiliates; reciprocal conference registration at member rates for the membership of affiliated organizations; the exchange of membership lists, advertising privileges in affiliates' publications, and the posting of information on affiliates' listservs.
