Hi everyone, A student researcher at the UW School of Architecture is writing an essay on phenomenology as it relates to objects (not building exteriors) designed by Alvar Aalto. Specifically they are looking at the Paimono chair and sinks Aalto designed for patients at the Paimio Sanitorium, and the furniture, furnishings and interior casework in Villa Mairea. The student is hoping to find any in-depth sources that analyze these objects, or reasoning behind how Aalto developed them. Everything we have found so far together has either focused on the building exteriors, or is only a cursory summary of these objects, physical description, or how they were manufactured. Any help would be appreciated.
