Dear ARLIS Colleagues Tufts University is acquiring the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) and the W. Van Alan Clark, Jr. Library at the SMFA will become a branch of the Tisch Library<http://tischlibrary.tufts.edu/about-us/about-tisch-library> at Tufts University on July 1, 2016. The SMFA Library will be leaving the Fenway Libraries Online network at that time. Our library will also be leaving the Museum of Fine Arts Libraries but will maintain programmatic relationships with the William Morris Hunt Library, the Department of Contemporary Art, and other curatorial departments within the MFA. Lauren Kimball-Brown, Ashley Peterson, and I will continue to serve patrons at the SMFA Library and will remain onsite at our current location at 230 The Fenway. There are many opportunities for the SMFA Library as we join the Tisch Library, chief among them: increased services, resources, and collections, plus sixty university library colleagues. We have been working with Laura Wood, Library Director, Dorothy Meaney, Associate Director, and all of the Department Heads at the Tisch Library for the past eight months to ensure a smooth transition and we are excited to formally join their ranks in a few days time.
