We are pleased to announce the following collections now have finding aids and are open to qualified researchers.

Cordel collection : Brazilian popular literature pamphlets, 1940-ca. 1989 <http://primo.getty.edu/GRI:GETTY_ALMA21141905350001551> (4.5 linear feet)
A collection of over 2000 pamphlets of Brazilian popular literature known as "cordels" for the strings from which they hung at vendor stands.  They are predominantly composed in verse with a cover image and were used for moral instruction as well as entertainment for the general populace. (950072)

Lawrence Gustave Desmond papers relating to Augustus and Alice Dixon Le Plongeon, 1856-2007 <http://primo.getty.edu/GRI:GETTY_ALMA21123360150001551> (9 linear feet)
The collection includes papers and photographs assembled by Lawrence G.Desmond during his research on archaeologists Augustus and Alice Le Plongeon, as well as the drafts and manuscripts for his resulting publications. (2013.M.12)

The papers of artist Barbara T. Smith contain diaries, sketchbooks, prints and drawings, photographs, more than one thousand audio and video tapes, notes, plans, and correspondence related to Smith's artistic projects from student days forward and to her work as a writer, teacher, and advocate of the arts in Los Angeles.
