The Dartmouth College Library seeks two motivated, forward-looking, information professionals to join a collaborative team of nine librarians and three staff in Research & Instruction Services, Baker-Berry Library, supporting faculty and students in the humanities and social sciences. Our new colleagues will help develop, sustain, and promote effective and user-centered library programs, services, and collections to support and advance research, teaching, and learning at the College.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Head of Research & Instruction Services in Baker-Berry Library, these two individuals provide outreach, information services, and collection management in a flexible, collaborative, and innovative environment as liaisons to one or more academic departments in the humanities and social sciences (Note: the two current vacancies include the subject areas of History, Classics, English Literature, German, and Linguistics. Librarians, however, with backgrounds in any areas of the humanities and social sciences are encouraged to apply). Individuals in these positions will also collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to deliver a full spectrum of curricular and research support.

QUALIFICATIONS: ALA/MLS, or equivalent education and experience in areas of the humanities and social sciences; experience in an academic or research environment preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills; the ability to work effectively in teams and small groups; a strong commitment to public service and to outreach; demonstrated experience in providing effective and varied forms of information and instruction; proficiency with core research resources in the humanities and social sciences; and interest in emerging technologies as they relate to research, teaching, and publishing.

RANK AND SALARY: The position is part of the Library Classification System of Professional Ranks. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Full benefits package including 22 vacation days; comprehensive health care; retirement plans; and relocation assistance.
