The current (June/July) issue of American Craft includes a full page and a half article (p. 26-27) about fellow ARLIS/NA member, Jessica Shaykett, librarian, American Craft Council (illustrated with Jessica’s portrait!) and her huge digitization project—274 issues of the magazine Craft Horizons, the forerunner of American Craft. Craft Horizons (and since 1979) American Craft, has chronicled the history of American contemporary craft since 1941. Here is a link to the ACC website: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=american+craft+council. Clicking on “American Craft Magazine” will take you to the current issue; scrolling down to the bottom, under “Magazine,” click on “Past Issues” to see digitized issues back to 2008. You will also see a link to the ACC Library Digital Collections website: http://digital.craftcouncil.org/cdm/search/collection/p15785coll2, where reside all back issues going back to November 1941 (Vol. 1, No.1)!! You can also go directly there of course. Jessica is also celebrating the arrival on April 5 of a little girl, Iris Dottie. She is just back at work from maternity leave; Iris’s dad is now taking a paternity leave. Lucky Iris!
