Librarian - The Lamar Dodd School of Art, Athens, GA

The Lamar Dodd School of Art seeks a librarian to assist in the transformation of the School's Visual Resources Center into a new full-service library. This new library will be the hub for the School's commitment to research, quality instruction, and community engagement. A successful candidate for this position will have an entrepreneurial spirit and be ready to work with the faculty and the Director to chart a course for the new Lamar Dodd School of Art Library. Responsibilities of the position include operation of the Lamar Dodd School of Art Library; the development and management of the visual resource collection and a small and growing print and periodical collection; and promoting awareness of and facilitating access to the collections. The position oversees course reserves and circulation for the School of Art community, and includes supervision of multiple student assistants. The Dodd Librarian assists the school's faculty and students in use of materials and resources through appropriate and meaningful instruction and outreach programs as well as reference and research support. The Dodd Librarian will report to the Director of the Lamar Dodd School of Art and the Head of Collection Development with the University of Georgia Libraries.
