Dear ARLIS/NA Colleagues and Friends,


The Decorative Arts Special Interest Group will meet this year on Thursday, March 10th, 2016, from 11:00am – 12 noon in the Baker Room of the Westin Hotel in Seattle. Beth Hylen, reference and education librarian at the Rakow Research Library at The Corning Museum of Glass, will be leading the discussion.


Our t
entative agenda:

  1. Welcome and Introductions

  2. SIG leadership 2016-17

  3. Prospects for collaboration (digitization of marks’ books, resource lists, etc.)

  4. Discussion of session proposals for 2017 conference

  5. Call for content and featured libraries/librarians for SIG blog   

  6. Other comments/projects/ideas to share?


The meeting is open to all and is designed to be an informal setting in which those interested in the decorative arts, craft, and design can share ideas, questions, and suggestions for ways we can work together to bring attention to this specialized area of the arts.


Also, don't miss our panel presentation Contemporary Glass: Seattle and Beyond on Thursday, March 10th at 3:30pm, co-sponsored by the Dec Arts SIG and RISS.
