Dear Arlisans,

Just a heads-up that I will be interviewing the Thomas J. Watson library's Mindell Dubansky tomorrow for the hour on The Library Cafe at noon (Wednesday 3/24) on her exhibition presently on view in the members' gallery at the Grolier Club in New York entitled "Blooks: The Art of Books that Aren't."  Its a fun show if you are in New York and can get to see it before March 12, and she gives a fun and books & enthusiastic interview.  You can listen live at noon over the internet by pressing the link next to the radio on the website, or wait for the interview to be linked as a podcast immediately after the broadcast: http://library-cafe.org.

Also of possible interest, Stephen Jaeger, Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne, talks about his book Enchantment: On Charisma in the Arts of the West (Penn, 2012) a little down on the website.  Further down is an interview with Vassar's Marc Epstein talking about his award-winning  Skies of Parchment Seas of Ink: Jewish Illuminated Manuscripts (Penn, 2014). Other recent art-related interviews are Stephen Eisenman's (Northwestern U) discussion of his book: Cry of Nature, Art and the Making of Animal Rights (Reaktion, 2014), Art Groton's discussion of his exhibition in the Vassar Art Library of poster stamps, and Vassar professors Tobias Armborst (Interboro Partners) and Karen Lucic talking about design thinking and Buddhist art respectively.

Cheers,

Tom
