The Head Librarian, Bowes Art and Architecture Library, provides a full range of high-quality library services for the faculty and students of the Department of Art and Art History and to other interested faculty, students, and staff of the University. The Head Librarian is also a member of the management team responsible for humanities and area studies collections in the Stanford University Libraries. In addition to advanced subject expertise in Art and Art History, the Head Librarian must have proven managerial ability and be capable of contributing to the programs and projects of the Libraries in general as well as to the University. Directing a staff of 2.8 FTE librarian positions (exempt) and 3.5 FTE staff (non-exempt), the Head Librarian provides administrative leadership in a new, state of the art library facility within Stanford's new McMurtry Art & Art History Building.
