Prints and Artists' Books from Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr., Printmaker:

A Selection from the Fine Arts Library

In celebration of Black History Month, Indiana University Bloomington's Fine Arts Library will be exhibiting a selection of its holdings by printmaker and artists' book creator Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr., a 2015 USA Glasgow Fellow

The show will be on display throughout the month of February and will feature a closing reception on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5-6:30pm.  The reception will include light refreshments, brief remarks by the curator, as well as time to interact with Kennedy's artists' books.

Many of Kennedy's posters and artists' books shine light on society, racism, and social injustice in American society.  His works continue to raise good questions regarding where race and social rank lay in America today.  Thorough discussions will arise when viewing his works with colleagues and students.

Vaughan Hennen, a graduate student in Library and Information Science at Indiana University, curated the exhibition of Kennedy's work, along with the diligent assistance of the Society of Art Librarianship Students.

The entire collection of Amos Kennedy's work from the IUB Fine Arts Library’s holdings will be shown on an Omeka digital exhibition.

Further description of the exhibition is available here.
