Good advice, Joan. The deadline for applications is 1/11, and the committee plans a very quick turnaround. To be fair, I did receive last year's award before the deadline for the room rate. The problem was that the hotel block that had been reserved at the lower rate was already full. There's no way to know when the block will fill up; the only rule is the sooner we make the award the better. Do, please, send in your applications soon!
