Dear Collective Wisdom:

While helping an excellent intern hunt for a Henry Moore sculpture that sold at auction in the late 60's, I noticed that our print versions of Art Prices Current only seem to cover two-dimensional works-just paintings ("pictures"), etchings, drawings, etc. Some also include miniatures, but there is virtually no sculpture coverage. Art Sales Index isn't much better, and this appears to be the case with the online database, too. We finally found the Moore sculpture by manually digging through 40 years' worth of sales catalogs, but I'm curious if anyone knows why sculpture seems to be all but completely absent from these resources, and if there's something out there that does a decent job of covering sculpture sales pre-1990(ish).

Many thanks-
Emily Walz
