ARLIS/NA Mid-Atlantic Chapter 2016 Caroline Backlund Professional Development Award Deadline: Monday, January4, 2016 NOTE EARLY DEADLINE!* Purpose ARLIS/NA Mid-Atlanticwill present a professional development award of $500.00 to a chapter member insupport of attending the 44th Annual ARLIS/NA Conference, to be held jointlywith the Visual Resources Association (VRA) Conference in Seattle, Washington, March 8-12,2016. This award is intended to help chapter members become more involvedin ARLIS/NA at the national level. Eligibility An award applicant musthave been a member of ARLIS/NA for at least one year, and must be a current,dues-paying member of both ARLIS/NA Mid-Atlantic and ARLIS/NA. All ARLIS/NAMid-Atlantic members—including those who have transferred from other chapters—whomeet the above criteria are eligible for the award. Those who have neverattended the national conference; those who have attended past conferences; allwho will be participating in the conference as speakers or presenters, assession/program moderators, as moderators of a section, division or roundtable;all who will be serving on committees, are welcome to apply, as are chaptermembers who have no specific role in the conference program. The winner will submit abrief written report to the chapter's Award Committee after the conference, andwill be welcome to make a report to the chapter membership at a chapter meeting,and/or through a posting on the chapter web site. Each applicant for the award should submit (1) a letter of 250–500 words describing his or her role in theconference (if applicable), the benefits anticipated from conferenceattendance, and a description of all funding expected from the applicant'sinstitution or other sources; (2) a current résumé or CV, not to exceed two pages.
