Of course I meant to say: How much detail you go into when you catalog the exhibition catalog (or book) that accompanies the show is up to you, but I do think that it is helpful to scholars to make the above distinction clear if possible.

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Use of "organized by"
Dear Collective Wisdom.
I have been seeing the phrase "organized by" coming into play a lot more often in the notes field of cataloging records. I understand that there is a difference between an institution hosting an exhibition, and organizing it. But, is that difference of importance to those who use the cataloging record? My standard entry is "... for the exhibition at the ..."
Is this an important enough difference to change our entry?
