Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian - Ingalls Library of the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH

The Ingalls Library of the Cleveland Museum of Art invites applications from motivated and innovative librarians to provide leadership and expertise for electronic resources, print serials, auction catalogs, and related activities. The Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian manages a department comprised of two para-professional staff and reports to the Director of Library and Archives. The department is responsible for the selection, acquisition, licensing, processing, access and ongoing maintenance of electronic resources, print serials and auction catalogs. The Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian reviews vendor performance, oversees the annual budget and ensures the quality of serials control records in the integrated library system (Aleph). The position plans for future storage and facility needs for serials and auction catalogs and provides reference service related to serials and electronic resources. The Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian is part of the Library and Archives Senior Staff and a member of the Technical Services Management Team.

The Ingalls Library is a nationally recognized art research library founded in 1916, with 500,000+ volumes in all formats.

Requirements: Master's degree in library science (M.L.S./M.L.I.S.); Bachelor's degree in art history or related field preferred. Three years of experience in an academic or research setting with at least one year of electronic resources or serials experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior supervisory experience required. Project management experience desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of national trends and developments in serials and electronic resources management. Prior knowledge of acquisitions practices, including copyright, intellectual property and licensing terms/issues in a networked environment; knowledge of link resolver software and electronic resource management. Experience developing and managing relationships with vendors, publishers and interface providers. Working knowledge of at least one foreign language required as well as a proficiency in using dictionaries for other foreign languages. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proven success in independently prioritizing work and managing competing deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work with databases, word processing, integrated library systems, OCLC and other computing tools that the staff is expected to use on a regular basis. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
