The ARLIS/NA Executive Board invites applications for a Multimedia & Technology Reviews (MTR) co-editor. The co-editor is appointed/reappointed by the Vice President/President Elect in consultation with the Editorial Director, reports to the Editorial Director, and is a member of the ARLIS/NA Editorial Board.

Multimedia & Technology Reviews appears bi-monthly on the AWS in alternation with ARLIS/NA Reviews. It is designed to provide insightful evaluations of projects, products, events, and issues within the broad realm of multimedia and technology as they pertain to arts scholarship, research, and librarianship.  Subject areas may include films, performance videos, viral videos, video games, productivity software, mobile devices, social media applications, digital design collectives, research guides, databases and indexes, native online exhibitions, but much more.

 

This position shares responsibility with two other co-editors for all content posted to the reviews’ featured section on the ARLIS/NA Web site.  This position will also be involved in soliciting and selecting appropriate topics for review. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Research topics to review.
  • Curate a selection of resources to review for each issue.
  • Recruit and coordinate the work of contributing reviewers.
  • Edit reviews using Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Publish each issue on the AWS in the required format.
  • Work closely with publishers and reviewers to determine feature content.
  • Work closely with ARLIS/NA website editors for AWS structure, content, etc.

Members with proven editorial experience and deep interest or knowledge in arts research technologies and related forms of multimedia are encouraged to apply.

Applications will be reviewed by the Editorial Director and other members of the ARLIS/NA Editorial Board. The Editorial Director will make a recommendation to the ARLIS/NA Vice President/President-Elect for appointment no later than September 1, 2015.
