The Instructional Librarian is responsible for developing and coordinating the instructional program within the California College of the Arts Libraries. They provide leadership and vision for college-wide
library instruction initiatives, serve as a resource in library instruction theory and practice, and document the activities, effectiveness, and needs of the instruction program through reports, presentations, data and statistical analysis. They demonstrate
a strong commitment to providing instruction in both studio and non-studio practices, and to a diverse range of student and faculty proficiencies and needs. The Instructional Librarian partners with faculty, academic leadership, and the CCA Instructional Designer
to develop content, services, and resources to support the integration of information literacy into the curriculum. Other duties, coordinated by the Associate Director, include collection management in areas of expertise, reference and research support, and
promotion and outreach. The Instructional Librarian is enthusiastic and devoted to developing and strengthening library instruction and the role of libraries in a flexible, dynamic, evolving, media-rich art and design environment.
