Good morning,
Potential Panel 2016 ARLIS-NA / VRA Conference: Calendars in Archives
Seeking additional participants for a panel presentation
Taking calendars for granted is an easy thing to do. Most people don't give them a second thought until they need one and it's not readily available. Like other primary resources, illustrated printed calendars are a rich visual and textural
resource, each one a snapshot of the times in which they were created.
The Autry collection includes calendars depicting scenes from the American West, both real and imagined. This portion of the panel will focus on “Imaging the West: Shaping Stories and Histories One Month at a Time”
We would like to invite additional participants who have calendars in their collections. Topics might include (but are not limited to):
Collection development
Cataloging
Digitizing
Collection use by researchers and curators
Cultural sensitivity issues
If you are interested in participating, please reply directly to Cheryl Miller with your name, institution and short synopsis.
Thanks.
