Hello all,

I am working with an undergraduate researcher on a project about getting the arts (visual, dance, theatre, music, etc.) into the library. While we are waiting for a copy of “Bringing the Arts into the Library” to arrive, I was hoping some of you might have projects you would be willing to share to supplement our internet and databases searches. We are looking for information on:

·         Artist-in-Residence programs

·         Artists creating original works of art/site-specific work in libraries, archives, or museums

·         Bringing artists into the library/museum to create programming or events

·         Libraries commissioning artwork by arts students

·         Student and faculty artists participation in library outreach

Once the student decides more specifically what she wants to concentrate her efforts on, we may come up with a survey. In the meantime, if your institution has done any projects focused on bringing artists, dancers, actors, or musicians as creative forces into your space, we would love to hear about them! As much detail or brevity as you prefer, links to websites, presentations, etc. appreciated, as well. At this point she is hoping for ideas about what this has looked at in other institutions in order to come up with her focus for a proposal.

Thank you,

Sara
