Good morning colleagues,
All this week we will be featuring testimonials from SEI graduates on a number of different topics. First up is Bridget Madden.
Bridget attended SEI in 2013 and is currently the Associate Director of the Visual Resources Center at the University of Chicago. Speaking to the importance of SEI as a new professional, here's what Bridget has to say:
"I attended SEI several months after I started working in my first VR. I had been out of graduate school for three years at that point, and SEI provided me an incredible opportunity to refresh and update my skills in all aspects of my job responsibilities. Hearing from respected professionals about current best practices and doing hands-on activities with peers kept the material fresh and extremely relevant. I returned from SEI with a long list of things I could start putting into place right away at work and an even longer list of things to keep in mind for the future."
Who do you know that might enjoy SEI 2015? Help us spread the word about SEI by forwarding this email to a colleague that would benefit from attending this year’s workshop.
In its twelfth year as a joint program between the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and the Visual Resources Association Foundation (VRAF), the Summer Educational Institute for Visual Resources and Image Management is an intensive workshop featuring a continually updated curriculum that specifically addresses the requirements of today's information professional. Expert instructors will cover the following topics:
- Intellectual property rights

- Metadata and cataloging
- Digital preservation
- Uses of images in the digital humanities
SEI 2015 will be held at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign from June 9-12. More information about the workshop, including registration instructions, can be found on our website:
