*Barbara Madsen* <http://www.barbaramadsen.net/> is an artist and Associate
Professor at Mason Gross School of the Arts. Madsen is known for her work
in photography, prints, sculpture, and installation. Her collections of
cast-off industrial matter -- spark plugs, machine parts, welding masks,
rubber, plastic, prosthetics, and more – serve as fodder for the work. Her
art employs the tropes of modernism, popular culture and objects, sited in
meta-spaces. Madsen's installations mine the reproduction of the object,
they are realized through photographic prints, flattening and printing them
on wallpaper and floor vinyl covering every surface of the gallery.
Exhibitions include: Pratt Institute; University of Delaware, and Drake
University. She designed the set for Leopold and Loeb, Lowry Lab Theater,
Minneapolis. Madsen's billboards from 2001-2005 were a public awareness
campaign for social justice. Nationally and internationally Barbara Madsen
has presented twenty solo exhibitions, and has been included in over one
hundred group shows.

*B. Wurtz* <http://bwurtz.com/> was born in Pasadena, California and since
1985 has lived and worked in New York City. He received a BA from the
University of California at Berkeley in 1970 and an MFA from California
Institute of the Arts in 1980. In the past several years he has had solo
exhibitions at Metro Pictures
<http://www.metropicturesgallery.com/artists/b-wurtz/> in New York, Kate
MacGarry in London, Galerija Gregor Podnar in Berlin, Richard Telles in Los
Angeles, Maisterravalbuena in Madrid, The Apartment in Vancouver and White
Flag Projects in St. Louis. Group exhibitions and two-person shows also in
the past several years include *Displayed* (curated by Matthew Higgs) at
Anton Kern Gallery in New York, *Jim Isermann / B. Wurtz* at Mary Boone
Gallery in New York, *Stay in Love* (curated by Chris Sharp) at Laurel
Gitlen & Lisa Cooley Gallery in New York, *Alexandre da Cunha, Michael Rey,
Michael Williams, B. Wurtz* at Office Baroque in Antwerp, Belgium and *Prague
Biennial* in the Czech Republic. A solo museum exhibition with publication
takes place in 2015 at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead,
England.
