Please join the New York chapter of the Art Librarians Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO) on Monday, March 30, for a panel discussion featuring New York’s five National Digital Stewardship Residents. A networking reception with refreshments will directly follow.

The National Digital Stewardship Residency in New York (NDSR-NY) supports the development of a select group of recent MLS and related master’s degree recipients by providing advanced training and hands-on experience in the unique knowledge and skills required for the selection, management, and ongoing accessibility of digital materials. Participants of the program complete 9-month paid residencies working on digital stewardship initiatives. NDSR-NY is supported by a 3-year Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) funded grant to METRO, in partnership with the Brooklyn Historical Society. For more information about the program, including host and resident application information, visit: http://ndsr.nycdigital.org.

ARLIS/NY and METRO attendees will hear from the following residents regarding their institutional projects and the NDSR experience:

§  Vicky Steeves, American Museum of Natural History

§  Shira Peltzman, Carnegie Hall

§  Peggy Griesinger, Museum of Modern Art

§  Karl-Rainer Blumenthal, New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC)

§  Julia Kim, New York University Libraries
