Dear colleagues,

 

If you are attending the ARLIS/NA conference in Ft. Worth next week, please join us at the Auction Catalogs Special Interest Group meeting on Sunday, March 22, from 2:15 p.m. – 3:15 pm, in the Texas F room, Omni Fort Worth Hotel.

 

This group (which replaced the SCIPIO Users’ Group in November 2013) is the forum for all things related to auction catalogs– acquiring, cataloging, archiving and providing access to print, digitized, and born-digital auction catalogs.  It also includes anything related to SCIPIO, the OCLC-hosted database of auction sales catalog bibliographic records.  

 

Our agenda (so far) is:

 

·         Introductions

·         RDA for SCIPIO guidelines

·         Collaborative projects and initiatives

·         SIG leadership for the coming year

·         Open discussion of auction catalog topics, which might include: auction house web archiving, born digital catalogs, paper and electronic price lists, and provenance research using auction catalogs

This last item includes whatever auction catalog topics are of interest to the attendees.  You are welcome to suggest ideas for discussion.  Our meeting is informal and open to everyone attending the conference.
