Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the year-long Career Mentoring Program with a workshop provided to train participating mentors and mentees in creating and maintaining successful mentoring relationships throughout the upcoming year. Those interested must complete
a separate registration with the Mentoring Subcommittee before registering for this workshop.

Learn to “lasso attention” using mindfulness and reflective techniques in the classroom to help students settle their minds and roundup their attention in order to be more receptive learners. Mindfulness group exercises will offer methods attendees can apply
in their classrooms, and from which they can guide students in gaining lifelong research skills with greater awareness, patience, and focus. Workshop attendees will receive an ARLIS/NA yoga mat!

Think big in an unconference-style workshop intended for those interested in or currently involved with large-scale digitization models. This workshop will consist of lightning presentations by members of the library and museum communities who are engaged with
both large-scale and small-scale digitization and metadata efforts.

Introduce yourself to a variety of free and open-source software tools that can be used to support research using digital humanities methodologies. Tools useful for activities such as visualization, timelines, mapping, and image recognition will be covered
to help art librarians re-envision art resources and better support their researchers.

Explore Artists’ Books DC (www.artistsbooksdc.com), a local, in-depth, and independent digital reference tool designed to increase access and outreach for an often hidden variety of collection. This
workshop will explain the steps necessary to create a reference tool about all the artists’ book collections in a region, including: how to research collections, what information to include, who the audience is, how to create the website, how to build community
relationships and get feedback, and how to advocate for funding.
