Dear List Members,

I’m unable to find a current link to MIC: Moving Image Collections.  I’m finding plenty of dead links to this project.  Would anyone be able to update me on this project and where it lives on the web now?

MIC: Moving Image Collections is a portal for discovery of moving image resources which will facilitate collaborative cataloging, preservation, exhibition, and digitization activities. The MIC mission is to immerse moving images in the education mainstream, recognizing that what society uses, it values, and what it values, it preserves.  MIC grew out of the National Moving Image Preservation Plans (U.S.) when the Library of Congress asked the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) to prioritize the plans' recommendations and develop implementation strategies.
MIC is a collaboration between AMIA and the Library of Congress, with major funding from the National Science Foundation.  Developer sites are Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Georgia Institute of Technology, and the University of Washington. Alpha implementer sites include the Library of Congress, Cable News Network (CNN), Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies, National Geographic Television, the National Library of Medicine, Northeast Historic Film, Oregon Health and Sciences University, Pacific Film Archive, the Peabody Collection at the University of Georgia Libraries, the Prelinger Collection at the Internet Archive, ResearchChannel, the Smithsonian Institution, and Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research.

Thank you very much,
Robin Rank
