Hum… I agree with Mr Franklin secondary meaning. LIBRIS is a dative plural, meaning a cause or a way that make a person unique. In this case, it would be his books. The bookplate of J. Davis Barnett bears the saying of Homo unicus libris. I believe this is a play on the phrase homo unius libri, perhaps meaning man of unique books, or man of only books, or maybe he just erred. If anyone has any advice, I would be grateful to hear it.
