Hello, I am working on a digital collection of bookplates from the Seattle
Art Museum libraries, and was wondering if anyone can help me on a question
of Latin translation.

The bookplate of J. Davis Barnett bears the saying of Homo unicus libris. I
believe this is a play on the phrase homo unius libri, perhaps meaning man
of unique books, or man of only books, or maybe he just erred. If anyone
has any advice, I would be grateful to hear it.

Thank you,

Joel Irving
