Dear Colleagues,

I have been asked to post the following information about the amazing and relatively new Art Canada Institute.
Please feel free to add the e-publications to your OPAC. There should be marc records available for most of them.

Apologies for any cross-duplication

Cheers!

Margaret English

About the Art Canada Institute

The Art Canada Institute is a national, non-profit research organization based at Massey College, University of Toronto, whose exclusive mandate is to promote a multi-vocal Canadian art history to a broad public audience, in both French and English, within Canada and internationally.

The ACI is comprised of more than forty of Canada's leading art historians, museum professionals, and visual culture experts who are dedicated to the creation of authoritative original content on the topics, themes, and people that have defined Canadian art history.

The Canadian Online Art Book Project

The Canadian Online Art Book Project is the inaugural program of the Art Canada Institute. Over the next five years the ACI will publish 40 free online art books<http://www.aci-iac.ca/art-books/>, in both French and English-digital volumes that give Canadians unprecedented access to the artists, images, documents, and stories that define our nation's visual culture.

This program is the only authoritative and comprehensive online resource on Canadian art and its history. All publications are peer-reviewed, reflecting current scholarship, yet they are also accessible to a general audience. They allow millions of people in Canada and abroad to understand the country's visual culture in a way that is fundamentally changing art education, awareness, and interest. The ACI brings the story of Canadian art and its history to audiences and classrooms everywhere.
