Dear Collective Wisdom,

I'd like, if I may, to impose on your busiest time of year for a bit of advice.  An estate has asked me to take on the task of cataloging, as it were, a collection of about 3,000 books.  The books are primarily art, photography, design and some literature.
Some are signed and a small number might be rare.  My question is, what would be a fair rate to charge?  I am not inclined to do it at a set fee as I don't want to be stuck if it takes longer than anticipated.  So, what in your experience is a fair hourly rate to charge?
I might add that since these are art books, many and quite heavy and there will be up and down on ladders.

Thank You,

Julia Mucci
