The Association of Architecture School Librarians (AASL) is inviting nominations for the 2015 AASL DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD. The deadline for nomination documentation is January 23, 2015.

CRITERIA

Nominees should have demonstrated achievements in one or more of the following areas:

1. Outstanding and sustained service to the profession through active participation, advocacy, or leadership in AASL or related organizations.

2. Outstanding and sustained service to a library or resource serving a school of architecture in a manner consistent with the highest standards of the field. These standards may be met in a variety of ways, including activity that involves exceptional creativity, innovation, leadership or scholarship.

3. Significant research and/or publication in any media or format that contributes to the further understanding and development of architecture librarianship.

4. Outstanding and sustained performance as a teacher in the field of architecture librarianship or a closely related field.

ELIGIBILITY

1.  Current or past membership in AASL is required.

2.  The award may be given posthumously.

3.  Current members of the AASL Executive Board and previous recipients of the award are not eligible for nomination.

4.  An individual may not self-nominate.

PROCEDURES

Three letters of support from colleagues and associates representing the breadth of the nominee’s contribution should accompany the official letter of nomination. 

A copy of the nominee’s CV should be available upon request. Current AASL Awards Committee members may not contribute to a nomination package.

AWARD

If the recipient is able to attend the upcoming AASL conference, he or she will receive, in addition to complimentary registration and group events, reimbursement for travel/hotel costs up to $500.

DEADLINE
The deadline is January 23, 2015 for all documentation supporting a nomination.
