Dear friends and colleagues,
Like so many of us who came into the profession in the 1970s I will retire soon. My last day with Dumbarton Oaks will be January 31, just in time to spend February with seed catalogs so I
can get a head start on spring gardening.
My first ARLIS/NA experience was a chapter meeting in Western New York while still in library school. With my colleagues here at DO, I was pleased to welcome many of you to the Reception at
Dumbarton Oaks at the Washington conference last May. Many years and many wonderful friendships and experiences within ARLIS/NA happened in between. But now it’s on to other things that have been too easily crowded out by a busy career.
I look forward to staying in touch with ARLIS friends. And I encourage anyone interested in the library director position here to take a good look at the job posting.
